Chicken poo id and behaviour help please

Hello all,

This is my first post, just joined.

Anyway, hope someone can help.

One of my hens of about a year old is not quite herself today.

She has drunk normal amounts of water, not eaten much, though ate a blueberry and a couple of spinach leaves and pecked a bit of her normal food.

She's a bit slow and hunched sometimes, and sometimes walking around usual pecking and exploring but definitely a bit not 100%.

I wondered if the poo I took a picture of would give any clues? Hope somebody can help.

Thanks
Mark.

How do I add a picture ?

BYC sometimes has a post minimum for uploading photos to prevent spam. Until then you can't post any photos.
Usually it's about twenty posts. When you can post a photo you will see an icon of a photo with two mountains and sun in the corner. Click on that and it will let you upload photos.

I'm sorry to here about your chicken, I have linked a article about common chicken illnesses, see if any match your hens symptoms and treat accordingly.

Has she laid any eggs? What does her crop feel like? Does she have bad breath like garlic?

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

Shame as the picture would most probably help.

She has some food in her crop, haven't smelt her breath, think she's gone to bed now.

She'll walk up to you, acknowledge you etc but as said bit slow, sometimes hunched, drinking well, not much food. But the poo isn't what I'd call every day normal.
Will have to see how she is tomorrow.
Thanks.
Mark
