First time chicken owners and we built our coop and run. We plan on putting pine chips in the coop but didnt know anything had to be put in the run. We have 5 hens. What do you think about the coop? Any suggestions and ideas greatly appreciated

Looks good. It's hard to tell from the pictures how much ventilation there is. I would add Windows or gable type vents on each side toward the top.

The chicks will have that run down to mud in 3-4 weeks. I plan on adding grass clippings, leaves, etc to my run this summer.

We have the vent up top and then the chicken door will stay open unless cleaning it. Whats good to add in the run and easiest way to clean it out

Again that depends. If using a deep litter method it gets cleaned a couple times a year. Some people use shavings and clean it every week or two. Some use sand and clean it every day. I myself plan to clean mine each fall and spring and till into my garden, if it is composting.

How should we go about cleaning

We completely clean it out once a year. We have 6 chickens and the run is 8' x 16'. The poo drops through the litter material to the dirt floor below and decomposes. The chickens keep it "stirred" . There is no odor. The run is covered and stays dry for the most part but the rain or snow that blows in keeps it just damp enough to facilitate the break down of the materials and droppings.

Here's what we hauled out for the garden with the spring clean out..
