Still doing research

I am looking into raising some chickens in my yard. I have four kids and they love animals. I think this would be a great experience for them as well as teaching them some responsibility.
I have a lot to learn before starting like which litter method to use. As well as much more.

Any tips for a noob would be helpful.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
