Hi guys,

My 1 year 4 month old quail has started losing A LOT of feather over the past 2 days. She's balding a bit, and flaky, almost dead skin seems to be fluttering off her...I thought perhaps it was mites, but I can't see anything, and she seems pretty happy, if not grumpy at being held so much ;) There are lots of new feathers 'sprouting' out, so perhaps this is just natural? I've never seem feather loss to this extent before though. I'm wondering if it is stress? One particular quail has been a bit of a bully lately.

The other 2 girls are fine and have no feather loss. As I'm in NZ the season has just changed to Autumn ( it's still quite warm though at 20 - 23 degrees ) and all have stopped laying.

Should I be worried, should I treat her for mites? I have A powder that I put with their food. I really don't want her to be in any discomfort!!!

Here's some pics in case :)
