HELP! Newly hatched chick

What's hanging from the chick? Also.. The front claws are bent.. Is that normal?

Looks like umbilical and hatch gunk. It should dry up and fall off on its own. Please dont be tempted to pull it as this may cause a rupture from its abdomen. As for the claws they will need time straighten out after hatch. They have been curled up for a while in the egg so need time to stretch.
Just keep an eye on them to make sure they do straighten out as the chick drys off and fluffs up.

Good luck with your chick big_smile.png

Thank you very much. Any ideas what to do with these two. Try pipped the wrong end.

Keep an eye on  them and give them time. Some malepositioned pippers make it out perfectlyl fine, others won't make it out w/o help.
