Heating Plates for Chicks

Hello! I am new to this site but I have a question that I am hoping someone can give advice on. I went to a poultry clinic today and they had heating plates for sale, so I bought one. Any thoughts on these products?

Glad you could join the flock! I use the Eco glow heating plates and really like them. They replicate the hen very well and use far less electricity than a lamp. There is also less of a fire risk with the plates or pads. The only down side I have found is you can't see the chicks when they hide under it but I guess that's what would happen with a hen if they popped back under her for a warm.

Welcome! I've purchased one also and am nervous about the " how to" but I'm hearing such good things about using them that I can't wait to try it out. My eggs will be hatching in a few days... Then I will know!
