Still think it's a boy? Does any one have a picture of a girl I can compare it to? Would be interesting to see.

Haha!!! (-: because now I'm so attached, I don't want to have to find it a new zip code! If they would all just get along! Breeding season is just so hard. I had one gander this spring get so bloodied. The alpha goose tore him up! )-;
Once the gosling gets old enough he should join the flock asap after breeding season so that the gander can bond with him.

I agree. It is starting to get nice here, but its still down in the 30's at night. Due to the strange weather we have had here in Ohio, I'm beginning to think that I'm not going to have any hatches at all this year. So far, he is all that I have had. I just candled, and took eggs away from one goose, they were all duds and stinking, and I'm getting ready to candle the next nest because there is an awful odor coming from there too. When would be a good time to see if they will take to him? Should I try to replace him with the eggs? Does he need to be feathered before I put him out there? This is truly a mess! Since he doesn't know he's a goose, they may scare him to death. lol I have put a mirror in his tub, but there isn't anything out in my pens that look like him.
Thanks for any advice. I could sure use it now.
The only other question I have is about sunshine. I have him in a room with a heat lamp, and he looks a little pale to me. When do they start needing to have access to the sun?
