My Coop
hello my names is rebecca, for those of you who dont know me i am a stay at home mother of a three year old daughter named Lucy, and a three month old name Joshua. My daughter like most three year olds can be a hand full. But she is extremely sweet, her brother is a sweet happy baby who hates mondays and i cant blame him i do as well. He gets cast put on and taken off every monday for at least 6-8cast changing then he gets special boot connected by a bar until he is five. They are to straighten his feet. Most days seem to fly by with the amount of work there is to do around the house. My husband works two jobs so he is rarely home he recently started this as a way to make extra money to save money to build a house. His first job is three nights a week and three days for deliveries and such when he unable to make the deliveries the kids and i do those. His second job is is 3-4 days a week working a a security guard (he a manager for both jobs). We have two cats two dogs a tank ful of fish and 31 chickens from 2 months old to a year old and two ducks about 2 months old now. I have a large garden as well we hoping to get some other farm animals soon to help produce our own food. I try to bake all of our bread and ect. I been having a blast living this way. This is a thread i wanted to start for stay at home parent for advice and support and for us diy for tips and recipes.

Lucy fights me over it some days grr and clothing seriously why do i have to chase her around anyone else go through this?

My daughter (just under 2) wants to wear shoes and only shoes. I have to trap her with my legs to do her hair. She is currently getting molars and has been quite the handful. My son is 8 months old and just a little sweetheart. He is trying to learn to crawl though so I know soon I'll be out of my mind trying to keep up with both of them!

They are fun yet frustrating that is for sure

Lol lucy the same about the shoes until she has them on and maybe five minutes is all they last before she takes them off. Them she asks fiveminutes later to put them on again. Lol that drives me batty she recently showed me she knows how to put them on and i curious as to how long she been able to

Hahaha! Awesome feed, my daughters are a bit older, almost 5 and 3 & a half (they are 17 months apart). We are a suburban family living on the Gold Coast in Australia (I am originally from Canada). We spend most of our mornings at the beach teaching the girls how to surf. NEVER in a million years thought I would ever have chickens let alone spend time on a chicken forum.

I bought our chicks as an Easter gift for my daughters, our chicks are now 4+ weeks old. After two months of research and numerous conversations with breeders I chose two Orpintons & a Splash Australorp, we also have an older (10yr old) dog who just exepts everything. Happy times!!

Lol thats funny i mever liked birds as a kid i got attack by cardnals for walking through bushes where they had the nest. I figured we would get chickens for eggs and the cull for meat and i wouldnt be emotional about it i was wrong i love my hens. How different is it over there? Granted i have never been to cananda i only been out of texas twice once to mexico and once to arkansas.

My daughter loves our birds. After shoes she immediately yells "Shicky shicky?" And wants to feed the chicks. She laughs when they scratch and peck. In general she is/was afraid of the fluffy babies. She likes them with feathers better

Lmao thats so funny mine is afraid of bugs so the chickens and ducks are her heroes for eating bugs.

I'm not a stay at home Mom! I'm an old grammy, but... so very glad to see this thread starting. You gals need all the support you can get! Parenting is hard, expecially when the kids are so young.
