Hi, it seems like im always posting on injuries/emergencies. My wellie pullet poppy is always having reacurring problems but shes being a trooper with the proper care. I recently built them a coop, took her and her sister out to try and get used to it for maybe 1-2 hours of sunshine. Her foot was perfectly fine. As i bring them back in, her foot is freaking huge, red, and has sores on it and im freaking out all over again. Did some research and it looks like bumble foot. But its on top of her foot? Does this look like bumble foot? If so i need to start growing some balls to do the at-home surgery or look around for some bird vets.. Just need to make sure before i start this process. :((

Can someone please comment, there is multiple "black sore spots" but bumblefoot only has one right? I want to take care of this as soon as possible. It also looks like white hairs or something are growing on top of one of the black spots?

I totally agree that needs to be looked at by a vet, I have never seen anything like that, it does not appear to be bumblefoot, it doesn't look like that at all. In such a short period of time from fine to that, I have no clue what that could be other than maybe, possibly some kind of infection. I seriously would get her to the vet. To answer your actual question, I have never heard of bumblefoot that starts on top of the foot, it can affect the top of the foot by the swelling squeezing between the toes but the actual bumble is usually on the bottom of the foot or toe, that is not to say that it would be impossible to get it on the top of the foot, I'm sure it's a possibility but it would be rare.
