Splitting chicks between brooders

Hi! I'm getting set up for my first batch of chicks and I was wondering what would be best for the socialization of the chicks. I will be using large Rubbermaid containers for brooding boxes but will have a few boxes in order to give the birds their "proper" space (1 sq ft). Should/could I move the chicks around so that they spend some time with each of their new family members or does it even make a difference? Will that stress them out? I'm planning on 12 chicks so I'll probably have 2 or three separate boxes...

We had ours in two different brooders to give them proper space, then ended up losing half to my dog so the new chicks we got are about 2 weeks younger than the others. We have them all together now in the coop and it only took a few days for them to all settle in together. They were about 5 weeks and 2.5 weeks when we put them together.
