Well since there isn't a breed discussion thread on this particular bird, though i do not see this one being hundreds of pages long anyways, does anyone else have a Golden 300? I did not realize that's what i had gotten until i spoke to the hatchery and sent them photos. I simply needed a brooder mate for my Cayuga that i wanted so bad and this little duck caught my eye. Curious to see what it feathers out like and was hoping to see what others had ended up with. I will update as ours grows.

As expected. No other Golden 300's. Here's ours getting bigger and more adult feathers.

Well i just sold her so here is the last picture. She ended up having the body of a Rouen without any facial markings. She also was larger than my one year old Rouen by the time she was 8 weeks old.

My 8 week olds look similar to this hen and I have thier Dad, a drake that looks like a male Rouen but he is a Golden 300! But the three babies dont have a very loud voice either. 2 are bigger than the Dad and 2 hen ducks, one is a very light brown, 2 look like this one.

Thank you for posting updates of her, I have just ordered my first ducks, due to come in June, and one is a Golden 300! I appreciated to be able to see the stages!

So glad I found this post! I've been trying to identify this duckling. Alot of people were telling me a drake but it looks pretty identical to yours!

I've got two female golden 300s. They looked like yours did when they were tiny. They are about 8 months now, laying an egg each per day. I think they are gorgeous. the photo doesn't show it but they each have a white bit with various white spots on their wings. They have different feet/beak colorings from each other. They both have a mild green iridescence in their wings. Very neat ladies :)

Is this a male or female duck? I have two babies that look very similar
