Hello From South Florida! (looking for online chick hatcheries)

Thread Starter

HI all!

We are looking to add to our current flock of 6 chickens. (3 silkies and 3 americana) Our silkies are currently very broody and we want to get some baby chicks and attempt to have the silkies adopt them Our local feed store and random craigslist people are currently unreliable. Does anyone have any success or experience with online hatcheries? Any recommendations?

We have raised the americana from babies (less than a month old) and we currently have  hatched two naked neck chicks from fertilized eggs and the silkies have really become great mommas. Our americana have been great egg layers and we look forward to adding to our flock.

Thanks for any help and insight you can provide!

Silkies do tend to be great broodies  - but, some will not accept live chicks.  Maybe you could obtain some fertile eggs to put under them.  You may want to post on your state thread.  Just put that in the search box and it will come up.   :welcome
