Hello all, I could use your opinions. My lavender Orpington, Violet, will be 5 weeks on the 7th. Does she/he look like a roo or pullet? Your opinion is greatly appreciated!

You got it done. Chick looks a bit gawky and large like a cockerel, but a bit too early to say, that it is male for sure.

I will post again in a week or two, I'm beginning to think cockerel but hoping hen. It's ok if it's a rooster, but I have a pretty sassy rooster already, not sure how well they would get along.

Seems, so far, the general consensus is a roo, which is what I was afraid of. If that's the case I'm going to need to figure something out, I got more chicks this year to keep my hen to rooster ratio up, I had one rooster to 4 hens and he was starting to get abusive so I got him his own bachelor pad until I could get more hens. If this one is a roo, I'm back to square one with a two rooster/10 hen ratio. Not sure how that all works out, I guess I will have to do more research to see how to deal with that. I hate to get rid if the lavender Orpington, I hear they are very docile, but I hate to get rid of Chester, my cream legbar too. Suggestions?
