This is one of my 7 week old chicks that I purchased at the feed store. It was sexed as a hen, but it's splotchy pattern, demeanor and pointy tail make me think otherwise. The tail is pointy, upright and black with white borders on each feather. The comb isn't necessarily darker or larger than the other two that I'm sure are pullets. I would hate to break up my flock and I really love all of my birds so I'm hoping that a pointy and curved tail still leaves a glimmer of hope that this could be a pullet? And has anyone ever had a young pointy tailed chook that turned out to be a hen? I'd love to see photos of similar chicks or hear any experiences!
