What do I have?

So I ordered 2 Easter Eggers, 1 Swedish Flower, and 1 "assorted rare breed" from MPC

Any ideas which is which?

Chick # 1: has no pointed comb








Chicken # 2, has a pointed, single comb, is a little smaller than the others... maybe Egyptian Fayoumi?







Chick # 3: has no pointed comb







Chick # 4: Has a single, pointed comb

I'd be willing to bet that chicks #1 and #3 are your Easter Eggers, also that #4 is your Swedish Flower Hen (and a very cute light golden SFH at that ) Also I would agree with you that chick #2 is an Egyptian Fayoumi because of its smaller stature and coloring, the only other bird I think it could be is a Partridge Penedesenca but I think the EF is more likely. It can be hard to identify chicks because of the great variety of colors in them, especially at hatcheries, but with a little research you can be reasonably sure in your guess.

After doing a bit more research, and looking at them closely, I noticed that 1 and 3 didn't have the combs (I came back to update my post), so I was figuring they were the EEs too.
I'm interested to see if 2 is a Fayoumi, since that's what my first guess was (after looking at pics of all the breeds' chicks online), but I guess we'll see soon. So obviously if that's true, it would leave 4 being the SFH. Maybe I can convince my 5 year old to change it's name from Chickeny Junior (after his BO that passed away recently) to something flowery, as the two EEs just got named Rosa and Tulip by my other boys. Would be funny to have the only Flower Hen not have the flower name!

Number 2 definetly looks like an Egyptian Fayoumi, I just got my shipment from MPC yesterday and I had ordered one, she looks just like that one (and she is the smallest, even my silkie seems bigger..well chunkier for sure). Wish I ordered two, I feel bad for little thing, but she is smart, was the first one to figure out the water on her own, and everyone followed slowly after her.

Awww, ours must be sisters then! I bet it is then. Yeah, I didn't think about the fact I may get one that would be smaller than the others. But so far all seems to be going well. Do you have pictures of yours?

Ok tried to get the egyptian fayoumi to pose for a pic, ha not happening, but got a couple that showed her head and body color, as well as size comparison to the others. Three days old now I am guessing.



The three center chicks from top left to right and bottom : Egyptian Fayoumi, Blue Ameraucana (think boy) and dark cornish.



left to right : Super blue egg layer, Black copper marans, white silkie, blue ameraucana, egyptian fayoumi, dark cornish, super blue egg layer. All pullets (well suppose to be )

Thanks for posting! Yes, your fayoumi looks just like mine! I think I'll stick with Cleopatra (Cleo for short) for her name. I'm jealous you got Super Blues. I wanted one, but my husband said no more chicks. Then a few weeks later said okay, but they were all gone by then. :-( Next year!

I got really lucky on the Super Blues, when I originally placed my order a few breeds I had wanted were sold out, so I placed an order and I had by chance checked back 3 weeks later and there was LTD amount of the Super Blue egglayers, so I quickly and desperately called and switched them in and took out the two easter eggers. I am really curious to see what they look like when they grow up and how they lay. Its funny they are both yellow, no black spots, one looks like it might have some kind of muff going on and is pretty big, the other one is smaller and more streamlined. Time will tell.
