We are looking into starting a breeding line of chickens. Lets say I want to start out with chicks.. If I buy 6 female chicks... would I need to get a male chick from a different hatchery??, most likely if you order 6 female and 1 male from the same hatchery they are going to be related?? then if I hatch eggs from them and I want to keep the hens... would I then need to start two seperate line and get a different rooster from yet a different hatchery... ending up with two different lines?

You can get a male from the same hatchery. They often keep such large flocks of breeders that the chicks may only be marginally related. Even if they are closely related, inbreeding poultry isn't uncommon. Linebreeding is used frequently - mother to son, father to daughter, aunt to nephew, and so on.
