Hello I am a new member here are our 6 chickens that we bought 1 week ago at 18 weeks old from Hinchliffes farm in Huddersfield, England. I would appreciate any advice for a first time chicken owner, thank you.

Yes thank you I didn't know thats what they were called I think there is two of them though by the look of it, how many of those red ones do you have ?

I used to have two but one died :(. Other names for that breed are: Red Stars or Gold sex-links.

Welcome to Backyard chickens - very tidy set up for them BUT, have to caution you, it will not keep out any sort of predators. They climb, jump, dig and foxes in particular will have a field day and easy lunch.

Please check out the predator threads on BYC, for advice on protecting your flock.
