Ok, only those of you old enough to have watched the original Tonight Show would understand that greeting.
Hi! I'm a new chicken keeper here in Southern California. I wasn't sure if I was able to have chickens outside of our adjacent "Equestrian District" since they poopooed our piggy "Cobra" and we had to get rid of him. Turns out, in California, pigs (even potbellied pets) are classified as food and considered agriculture, not livestock so traveling with him was a nightmare due to "customs" at the state line. And living Equestrian District adjacent (kinda like Beverly Hills adjacent but smellier) he was not allowed. But luckily you are allowed to have up to 25 "fowl" so in addition to the 17 birds I already have in an outdoor aviary, 4 more little chicks made the cut. Whew!
Yesterday I bought two Barred Rock and two Ameracauna chicks. They are adorable. Looking forward to our upcoming "Restoration Hardware" color palette of dusky blue and brown eggs. Gonna get them a groovy coop setup in a week or two. I'll have it all decked out with Shabby Chic couches and Damask window treatments, cause, ya know, this is LA.
They have their own little BrooderCam https://home.nest.com/camera/ba778539122c4f0cbd2709f33ed356e5
Bye for now -
