What happened to this egg?

Strange egg - anyone got a clue what happened inside the hen to cause this?

Looks like corrugated shell. Check out this article ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-egg-quality-problems

#13 is all about corrugated shell.

Could just be a one off, glitch in the shell gland.

How old is bird?

New layers or older ones coming back into, or going out of, lay around molt.

Great article on VENTILATION, one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of coop design.

Fantastic treatise to help decide how much SPACE your chickens need.

 

Chicken math is not just 'addition'...but also should include Division, Multiplication and especially Subtraction!!!

Hen is a little over 1 year old.been several days now and I have not found anymore eggs like this one. Hopefully it was just a one off anomalie.
