Can you raise Marek's vaccinated chicks and non Marek's vaccinated together?

Tomorrow we are getting our three chicks from the feed store. They are Marek's vaccinated. Due to an unforeseen disaster, we lost one chicken, and would like to get two more chicks to keep the flock the same size. We found some chicks we could get today, but they are not vaccinated for Mareks. Would combining the non vaccinated and vaccinated chicks cause a problem?

Vaccinated birds can be housed with non-vaccinated birds just fine.

absolutely they can be housed together. Remember the vaccinated birds do NOT HAVE MAREKS DISEASE.even though the Mareks vaccine is a live virus IT IS NOT THE MAREKS VIRUS. it's made by a turkey virus that gives immunity . but IT IS NOT THE MAREKS DISEASE. The vaccinated birds will NOT SHED A MAREKS VIRUS TO OTHERS BECAUSE THE VACCINE IS NOT THE MAREKS VIRUS. Do be careful of other vaccines because there are other live virus vaccines that WILL shed the actual virus. for this reason personally I only give the Mareks vaccine.

Are the new chicks from a hatchery, or someone's home flock?  I would want to be sure that the new babies aren't from an infected flock.  Mary
