Hi all! I just received my little fluff balls yesterday morning from McMurray. I ordered the Ornamental Layer collection, and have no idea (except for two either Polish?) which breeds I got.

I know it's early, but thought some of you would like to try guessing the breeds. I'll post new photos each week to help with identifying and for fun.

Let the guessing begin! Thanks!
I think these might be Buttercups.

After looking at pictures of chick breeds, I now realize how similar different breeds of chicks can be colored! Some of my chicks have feathered feet, some look like they may have crests. I'll get better pictures soon

2) partridge cochin
3) black pekin cochin
4) blue cochin
5) sicilian buttercup or golden laced hamburg
6) wyandotte?

1. not positive but I think you are right with light brahma
2. Partridge cochin
3.not sure
4.Black cochin(bantam if it's a bantam, can't really tell their size in the pic lol)
5. Blue or maybe even splash cochin
6. silver laced wyandotte if they have rose combs, I couldn't see the combs
7. not sure
8. buff cochin
9. blue cochin

I'm not sure how much I got right as I'm not too good at guessing breeds and colors especially when they are little but for the most part I think that you were right in your guesses!

Hmmm, not sure if they could be a breed not listed in the Rarest of the Rare, which is the group they pick the Ornamental Layers from. I was thinking Gold Penciled Hamburg, but so many breeds look a bit similar when they are chicks. Some of these are already getting feathers! They aren't even a week old! I'm happy with whatever breeds I have, they are all doing well. I don't think any are bantams.
