First of I would like to say I'm new to duck and chickens and new to the site I currently have ten pullets around 4 weeks old and 2 rouen ducks about the same age i would like to say thx a Lot for the people in this forum i learned so much from ya guys and gals thank you all. I have read other posts about sexing rouens, but postings my own pics and info on mine would be a good idea. I'm hoping for a male and female. Ok so the crested one has more of a peep sound, is slightly bigger with more of a yellow bill and lighter down and feathers around the face, neck and chest area. The other has more of a pale looking bill that looks a little darker. As far as the color this rouen has a darker neck and chest area and has a quieter but higher pitched sound if that makes sense. Here is couple pics of it helps
Thx again

I started last year with 2 Rouen also. It is hard to tell at that stage. I ended up with 2 female. I spent a couple weeks guessing because their colors kept changing slightly. I have heard that your can tell by voice best. I can tell you the females have a loud bold quack. One of my females has yellow on the bill, I was sure she was going to be a male. Best of luck to you!

Give it a couple of weeks and their voices will give it away. The quack that a female makes is unmistakable, and you'll know for certain.

Very cute rouens!

Update on my rouens. the crested rouen has begun to quack time to time and is pretty loud. The other one seems to be losing its voice and started to get a greenish tint on top of its head, still kinda early to tell but it seems to be a drake. What do y'all think. Here is a pic best one I could get.
