I just have to gush over my babies!
They were just moved out to their coop this week. As soon as they hear me coming out of the back door, they come to me and start "talking" to me, and I "talk" back which makes them talk more. <3 They also "cheep" at me when I walk away, and watch me until I walk into the back door of the house. They come up to me in the coop, and will get in my lap sometimes. However, they are still afraid of my hands, is this normal? Will this fade over time? Do they sound like they have imprinted on me, or do they just sound like they are bonded? I have ALWAYS wanted ducklings, but this is my first batch and they are so much better than I ever thought possible! I love my chickens, but I love love love my ducklings!
Anyways, I just wanted to brag on my ducklings and post some adorable duck pictures! You should post your babies too! <3

Rowan, the Rouen (named after Rowan Blanchard, the actress that plays Riley, from Girl Meets World)

Topanga, the Anacona (named after the character Topanga on Boy Meets World). This duckling better pray it is a Girl because, if it's a boy- it's still Topanga.

Puddles the Khaki Campbell, because she loves the water!

Quackers, from a show I used to watch when I was young with the famous line from a duck "Cheese and Quackers."
Does anybody know type of duck, this duckling is? This one has us stumped.

Show me your cute duckling pictures! Tell me what you love about them! <3

Aww congrats on your babies! I just got mine yesterday and love them so much! I too have always wanted to get ducks, I have chickens too but really wanted ducks and like you I love love love my ducklings and so far they are so much more fun and cuter I think. Your babies are adorable! I have a Buff Orpington (Jemima, after the Beatrix Potter duck) and a Cayuga (Emily) so far the Cayuga is very relaxed when held the other not so much but I hope she becomes friendly in time. I just added four more Easter Egger pullets to my flock too so lots going on with my flock but I love it. I find I have a hard time prying myself away from my ducklings lol, they are just so much fun! Here are my girls

They are adorable! Congrats! :) Ducklings are the best! Mine are about a month old now. They are starting to get feathers. They are growing up so fast! We had to separate our chicks and ducklings because the ducklings were way too big after the second week and would accidentally run over the chicks. lol. We will reintegrate them when they are the same size, but ducklings grow SOOOOOOO fast. Way faster than chicks.
We added 8 chicks and 5 ducks to our flock about a month ago, but we lost one chick, and one duckling. The hatchery that we got them from didn't seem like they had taken very good care of their poultry, and we think that's why we lost those two so early on. :(

Hahaha! Topanga could be Cory if she's a he

congrats on your ducks! I've got a pekin cross named Farkle and a runner named Lucaya (real name is Charlotte but Lucaya because I used to have an axolotl named lucaya who was black before CHARLIE my other axolotl ATE HER.) also I like the name Rowen for a Rouen! I might steel that later.... But I don't have any Rouen girls just 2 boys. Freddie and Gibby who are fat 3yr olds. My ducklings are named Lucaya, MoonMoon (who is a magpie, she doesn't look like yours) Harmony, and Phoebe. My older ducks are
Carly, Freddie, Gibby, Sam, Farkle, Derpy, Jalepeño, DJ Quack, and many more names that I don't want to list... Keep us updated I love watching ducklings grow!

Aww! I love your names!

Right now, they are in that awkward stage where they want nothing to do with me. From what I have read on this forum though, that's completely normal until they are fully feathered. I really cried because I thought that they didn't love me anymore.
