I'm going to preface that this breeder I got the hatching eggs from was a little sketchy, and we are not raising show birds, so my questions are just out of curiosity. We were told these blue hatching eggs were araucana eggs, and I'm wondering if this is typical, they are poorly bred, or just not araucanas at all.
These chicks all hatched yellow, and out of the 5 chicks, 3 have white legs, 2 have willow/yellow legs. Some are getting what looks like tufts on the top of their heads (the willow legged chicks), non are rumpless, and none are tufted at the ear. 2 seem to be splashes now, and one chick has this odd coloring. What are your thoughts? Are these araucanas? What color will this chick end up? Is she a blue wheaten? They are 2 weeks old now. I want to be sure I know what they are when I find homes for the chicks we aren't keeping.
