Not only do I live in Minden, near Reno, Nevada, I am a native! We have heritage breeds hens that are a palsy with our wonderful White Rock rooster. We also have Khaki Campbells, Rouens, and a couple Pekins. We will be getting day old Saxony ducklings from Holderread next week! We do enjoy raising poultry and now incubating eggs.
 
Hello! I just became a member of BYC today. We are starting our first flock here in Fernley. We have two Welsummers that are about 3 weeks old and 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 White Rock, and 3 Aracaunas that are 2 weeks old.

I'm new to this forum as well and enjoying learning more about raising poultry. We have had chickens for decades and there is still so much to learn. So glad our only predators at our house are hawks and coyotes , cats when the chicks are little and neighbor's dogs. At least where we are racoons aren't a problem. Our Saxony ducks were shipped yesterday afternoon and I am stressed waiting for updates from the post office.

These are the baby Saxony ducks from Dale Holderread and a bonus hookbill . Two weeks old and full of the dickens. I'll post pictures soon of our adult ducks.
