Please help! Hen has a sever issue I've never seen before.

We thought maybe she was egg bound by watching her strut around the yard. Our chickens aren't the friendliest so we had to wait until they roosted to get her. Are chickens able to get prolapses? She doesn't seem bothered when we touch it but it can't feel good. Clearly there's something wrong. Any idea? Sorry the pictures aren't that great. She doesn't like being held so it was a feat to get anything.

Yes. Chickens can get prolapsed vents. If the hen appears to be straining she most likely is egg bound and the prolapse is the result. A bad situation. I'd put the hen in a warm, high humidity, darkened room. Bathroom. Putting vegetable oil in the vent may help her expel the egg. If an egg is the problem there is little you can do until it is laid. A veterinarian may be able to help. Good luck.
