thanks for posting the link to poultry shears at amazon. I'm getting them for my first slaughter of 25 chickens in over 20 years. Probably I'll remember how it goes. This time, instead of using the old farmer's old ax, I'll use nice butchering tools, like those poultry shears you suggested. How lovely this will be. I'm also growing herbs, such as summer savory, for when I finally get to the roasting part of the process.
