Chicken not walking

Hello. My chicken is not walking and apparently is not able to stand. I thought at first she just went broady but something seemed off. She is still alert, just can't support herself. I brought her into the house and made her a mix of warm cornmeal & electrolytes. Tomorrow I will give her a warm bath and feed her with a dropper if need be, bit i didnt want to stress her out more tonight. Any idea what might be the problem. The only thing I can think of is my rooster is huge compared to her and I lost the other smaller one last week. I wonder if he has hurt them while mounting them.

More information is needed.
How old is she, what breed is she - what breed is the rooster? (Are they both standard size chickens or is one a bantam and the other standard)
You will need to do a thorough examination of her - manipulate the legs and wings to see if there is pain, tenderness.
Is she of laying age, when was the last time she laid an egg?
Any signs of coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc?
You mention you lost another chicken last week - what if any signs/symptoms did that one have?

Thanks I thought Gladys, a little barred rock died last week because the neighbours dog keeps getting in my yard, barking and stressing them out out, she was fine the day before.

Stella is a 4yr old Araucana, Oliver is a 1 year old Delaware, he is almost as big as my dog, she's less than half his size. She had no symptoms except her legs appear dead and her vent was very slightly red but I think that's from sitting in her own feces for 2 days. Now this morning she had one incident of very smelly diahrea. However she is bright eyed, eating, flapping her wings and squawked this morning like she's laying an egg, but no egg. She kast laud 3 days ago. I chanced stressing her out to give her a warm bath, now she's sitting straw in my sunroom eating gruel.


I have a couple of ideas:

1)Oliver has injured her

2)she had a poo ball stuck to her toe I couldn't get off this winter because I was afraid to soak it off incase she got a cold, maybe it's caused a problem.

3) I started giving them meal worms as a treat apx a week ago. Maybe I gave them too many?

You may want to check just to make sure she is not egg bound. Usually they will stand like a penguin, but you never know.
It does sound more like any injury. I would keep her separated and see if she improves. Feed her normal poultry ration, you can offer some scrambled/hard boiled eggs or tuna for protein boost, a few treats , make sure she has her grit and oyster shells as well. If you have them poultry vitamins in the water may help, but is not necessary if she if bright eyed and responsive.

Oh and I did check her legs while I bathed her. No swelling, no strange growths, her feet are yellow, she appears to be missing a toe nail. No apparent pain when I move them. She pretty patiently let me wash them and put Bag Balm on them. They just sort of hang there lifeless, except on her back they slowly retract. She must have some movement because they were sticking out to the side when I laid her in the straw, now she has them tucked under her again. But I think she moved her body over her legs not her legs under her body.... sorry for the novels

Thanks. I just gave her the warm bath. So I'll let her sit and relax then go check her. I put a little olive oil in her gruel so that may help too

She isn't laying. But I've had her in the dark and quiet for two days. I tried everything in the two articles. I've felt her belly. I don't think it feels any different than normal. There are 2 bumps deep in but they are nornally there I think and are even... one isn't further along or lower than the other.

I feel badly I can't do more or stay home with her today

I'm sorry, I meant can you take a picture of how she is lying down? How the legs are splayed?
Wondering if she has an illness like Marek's. Some nutritional/vitamin deficiencies could possibly cause similar symptoms as well. If you can add some poultry vitamins to her water (make sure it has B vitamins).

Oh sorry lol. I'm going to go into the Agro Centre and get some vitamins and see what else they recommend. I'll take pictures when I get home this evening. Thanks by the way for all your help, it's nice knowing I'm not completely on my own
