Cat brought me a present! Any ideas on breed?

Your story was amazing!! Nugget is a gamebird mix, his mom may have been ferel herself. Sorry, but Big Bird is definitely a rooster also.

Have you tried a rooster collar? They say that they are fairly effective and could make life easier - check on Amazon - cheers!

Now I'm concerned about Big Bird being a Roo! What is making y'all think that? I'm all ears! "Her" feathers were wet from being dunked in the pool to cool off. Maybe the feathers look different due to that? New feathers are still growing into the crest so I am expecting it to be fuller. However, now at 14 weeks there is ZERO wattle or comb development. I made sure to double check closely this evening. We were suspicious early on but started thinking pullet with lack of wattles or comb. If there is nothing appearing at 3 1/2- 4 months, when should I expect to see something? All the others I have seen posted online had wattles showing by 10 weeks or earlier. I would have thought something would have started growing by now. :/ "She" is very timid and is very attached to the Sultan(since day 1). Both could care less about Nugget. Nugget tries to bite the back of "her" neck and hop on her back. No chest bumping or anything like that.

I am definitely going to try it out! Fingers crossed it helps. He seems to crow during the day for attention. He usually follows me around during the day and can roam the downstairs of our house. If I go out of his sight or upstairs without him he will immediately start to crow until I appear again. Pretty sure he's just training me at this point because of course I come running.

After reading the Aseel and game bird thoughts on Nugget, I went researching. I can definitely agree! Part Game bird for sure! The thought of Aseel was scary. I couldn't imagine having a rooster that big!!! Literally a block from us is a farm property with roosters and chickens. We originally spoke with them (not very good English) and they said Nugget wasn't theirs. We thought that maybe they were just unaware of him. I'd take pictures of their chickens to compare but it would be hard to not look like a creeper with their pit bull barking at me nonstop. Sadly, in Phoenix I am certain there is still cockfighting. I'd like to think Nugget just got to be a lucky one that wasn't tormented, or trained to fight. He also has escaped a boiling pot. He's started being quite a pistol but hopefully he will stop trying to be dominant over my husband(got a good bite on his foot tonight) and myself. He practically picks on me daily now. I try to keep the upper hand but he sneaks up on me from time to time and bites my ankles. He just gets frisky with me and does a courting dance around me. I just brush him off a few times and he gets over it. It's like terrible twos for chickens! Anyone have experience with game bird Roos?

Funny that our animals train us, but they do.

No experience here, but I here a good deterrent for dominant behavior is a simple squirt bottle.

For me, it was the saddle feathers on your Polish that looked long. No experience there either, but practicing.

These two photos are of the same chicken. The photo on top is when we though he was a girl. Your Big Bird seems to have saddle feathers, and his crest looks similar to how our chicken's looked before the spiky adult rooster feathers came in. Ours doesn't have visible wattles.

Here are two photos of our hen for comparison. She's molting right now, so she isn't looking her best. I hope this helps you identify what you have. Isn't it fun being a chicken parent?!

I'll definitely be staring Big Bird down daily now! Do you remember at what age the spiky hairdo came in? Or crowed? I started reading online last night and saw where bearded polish won't have wattles. That just blew up my safety net! With only one polish, I have nothing to compare to except the Internet. I googled Polish pullet, and I got tons of pictures, many that even I knew were male right away! Why is it so hard to judge our own? Wishful thinking I suppose. Maybe Big Bird won't crow if Nugget is already doing the dirty work? I'm going to try and get more pictures of Big Bird today!
