Help! What breed is this?

Chicken friends, I need help with these two baby chicks. My mom-in-law hatched them about three weeks ago, but we are not sure what breeds they are or their sex. The flock that the eggs came from included the following breeds:

Hens: Ameracauna, Barred Rock, Austrolorp, Silkie, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Crested Polish, Buff Orpington
Roosters: Buff Orpington, Ameracauna, Silkie, Frizzle, Copper Maran

Barred Rock with what? Male or Female?








Ameracauna with what? Male or Female?

I'd guess the barred rock was the mother of the first chick. If that's the case, that first chick would be a cockerel. If I'm remembering correctly, barred hens only have one gene for barring to contribute, and it goes to her sons (barred males have two, boys get two copies, girls one). I don't know who daddy would be though, nothing pops out on that one. The second chick looks very much like an Easter Egger, I'm guessing the Ameracauna was mom and either the Marans or Silkie was dad (maybe the frizzle, depending on what breed it was. Most folks have frizzled Cochins, which have feathered shanks). Those are my guesses anyway. I'd have to re-read how barring genes work to make sure that info is correct though. They sure are cute!

I read something about the markings of barred rock on a forum (https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/798635/sight-sexing-barred-plymouth-rock-chicks-at-hatch) and if that is correct then she is a hen.

Could she maybe be barred rock and frizzle? Because of the way her feathers are turning up?
