I purchased 3 bantams from Tractor Supply and were told they were "about 1 week old". During the first week I got curious as to what type of bantam they could be and quickly figured out they were silkies based on their black skin, feathers down their legs, and 5 toes as opposed to the typical 4. Then I got curious as to their sex as my sister-in-law is interested in a female if we ended up with any. I did a lot of research on the subject and found they are one of the most difficult breeds to sex until they either start laying eggs or crowing. Based on my research and observation, I have my suspicions on their sexes but I'd like to get others' opinions as well. Here are some pics to help. Sorry about the red lighting. They're still in the brooder box.

Sorry not all the pics came through.

That's Crispy and Trixie. Roughly the same size.

That's Blanche. She/he's smaller than the other 2 but no guarantee they're the same age.

They're too young to sex. And they appear to be non bearded, which means they'll have bigger combs and wattles than bearded birds would (so I wouldn't judge them on larger head gear, unless they become super obvious). You might try posting them again in a few weeks. Silkies are an exercise in patience...
