TSC sold as silkies, are they mix?

There should be a law against it - it's like dealing with a puppy mill. Whatever breed you are seeking - just "happens," to be the breed they are selling. Baloney!!

Please realize though that all breeders and not the same. Some people (dogs or chickens) think because they have a female that had babies - makes them a breeder. A real breeder is someone who starts with the best breeding stock they can afford, and hopes to improve upon them with each mating. They also make sure their stock is fed well, wormed, or treated for mites, etc. anything that might come along - instead of passing off sickly chicks.

This is true. I also failed to mention that I bought 6 (their minimium) from them and one was dead the next morning. I noticed the day before that it's vent was really red and seemed to be protruding somewhat but was still uncertain what to do for it. It didn't make it long enough for me to help.

There is a big demand for silkies it seems in this area, and I feel like you're correct in saying that's just what they happen to have. Is there any point in complaining to them? (TSC?)
