Well it's about time for my 6 chicks (3 white Rocks and 3 Americaunas) to be getting outside into a coop so after some begging on Facebook and a trip or 2 to the Home Depot I got started building my 6 foot by 4 foot coop. Approximately 2 feet off the ground and 6 foot tall to the top of the front. 3 nesting boxes and 2 roosts each spanning approximately 34 inches across. The wall closest to the nesting boxes will be hinged so I will be able to open it and get inside for egg collecting/cleaning etc. Going to build a 10 foot by 6 foot run to attach to the front of the coop. I got the 4 walls up and painted last night just didn't take any pictures. Will post those later after I take some. The roof will be tin.

We decided to paint the floor and basically everything they could soil on to try and prevent as much of it soaking into the wood.

Well we finally got the coop finished last night and put outside! The girls loved finally getting to be outside and having constant fresh air. Now I just have to figure out feed and water!
