The good news is it happened now as young birds go through a series of minimolts the first year so great chance of regrowth

Really? That is so interesting! I guess that is why their colours change so much. All that I had read about molting said that it will first happen at between 8 months to 1 year. I am loving BYC! So great to hear and learn from so many knowledgable people smile.png

I literally have the same problem only mine got really bad today after letting them outside for the first time. Literally my baby chicks got eaten alive by my other chicks 😭😭

Just wanted to post an update on Fluffy and say thank you again to everyone for their wonderful advice.

He is all healed up, back with the other chicks and his feathers have already started growing back!!

Outstanding - what a wonderful update, thank you for sharing!  It is amazing how quickly they recover, isn't it?
