I know that you can feather sex salmon faverolles at two weeks. This little guy is currently a week and two days. I'm thinking boy (will obviously wait a while until any solid opinion.) I was super excited for a hen but it appears that there is a great deal of black... What do you think? Is it possible that lighter feathers are coming?





This little red chick in the back is an ameraucana. But what will she (?) look like when she's older? Sorry for the blurry pictures.

You will need to wait for body and leg feathers. Pullets will have white leg feathering, males black. Chest feathers are a better indicator than the ones on the shoulders since lighter colored cockerels can have salmony shoulder feathers. Is this a hatchery or breeder chick?

Ah, okay, thank you. I'll wait, then! And I got him/her from a breeder.
 
I missed the entire second half of your post! The second chick looks like an Easter Egger and not an Ameraucana. What color legs does it have?

Which breeder did the Faverolles come from? Some lines are easier to sex early.

Yes, lol. I decided I might as well throw in the second chick, so I updated it. Hmm, interesting. Came from a blue egg which was marked ameraucana, but who knows? It's hard to say the colour of its legs. They look mostly like an orange-yellow, maybe a bit green, but it's hard to say because it's getting dark. I'll see if I can upload a picture tomorrow when it's brighter.

I got the faverolle (and all the chicks) from a Canadian breeder. I don't know where his originate from, though.
 
Update to close the thread: Salmon faverolle is a beautiful pullet named Peaches and unfortunately, Chippy, the red one, died. She was also a pullet though, I'm pretty sure. They both turned out beautiful.

First, Chippy. The recent pictures I have of her is of her dead, so take these instead.




And then Peaches. She's the cutest thing, OMG. Not the brightest.
