Birds on concrete
welcome to BYC -- are you planning to bed over the concrete or are you wanting to house your birds directly on the concrete? Is there a particular reason (beyond it already being there) that you are wanting to use it? Will the birds be confined to the coop/run at all times or will they have access to open ground outside of the run?
I have my coop and run on a concrete slab.Thats a picture of it on my avatar. Reason being is that it was already there when we moved in. So we built the coop and run right on it. It works great for us. Its been 4 years now. I use the deep litter method and I add all kinds of stuff like leaves, wood chips, weeds, straw, dirt etc. It builds its own little eco system just like it would if it was on dirt.
Does that help at all?
