Hello all! My name is Rissa an I'm a three year chicken owner.

This is Peanut Butter, but we call her Peanut for short

She is my first chicken. I got her as a gift one day in 2013 and we managed to keep her all this time in the city. She had never seen other chickens until recently so she's still learning how to interact but she's always been happy being with us. She goes outside all she wants and then when she's ready to go inside, she walks up to the door and calls (or screams) for us to let her in. She's a part of the family and we are happy to have her here

Now this is Caramel! Newest member of the family! Of course, Peanut didn't like Caramel at the beginning but now is getting used to him/her

Caramel is a rescue, we found him/her alone on my street a week ago(where the mother hen is or why he is in the city is a mystery to all of us) he/she has a bad wing but other than that he/she is healthy.we took him/her in and now he's already following us around and looking for us like we are his/her mom

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!

I really enjoyed your introduction. You may be interested in "people with house chickens," thread. My friend has had house chickens for over 25 years, different breeds but mainly silkies. A lot of folks are discovering chickens make great pets . Welcome to Backyard chickens.

Hi and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard with us. I hope that harmony reigns between your two chickens and that Peanut will enjoy the company.

All the best
