Bumble Breast (breast blister) - Graphic Pictures

Was going through my photos and found these:

Lanced

Pus removed then wound was flushed with saline and Nolvasan

Gauze rolls

Vet wrap

Nolvasan

Cotton padding

Gauze soaked in Nolvasan

Gauze pad on wound, padding over gauze, gauze roll over padding, vet wrap over gauze roll.

Was treated with Clavamox and recovered.
Did you wrap the vet wrap all the way around the chicken. She managed to get it off overnight. She scurries/hops around quite a bit so that’s how she got it. Rubbing on the towels. I don’t have nolvasson in Canada not the clamsvox at least not in our two feed stores. We don’t have nearly the stuff you have in the States. Can I put peroxide on it to dry it up, mind you, it’s pretty dry now.

Can I use poultry wound spray from Rooster Booster?

Is your hen okay?

After applying all kinds of stuff to it I decided to leave it alone and she did a great job of self healing. She didn’t lay around much but kept her body off of the floor with her good leg. I kept all kinds of cloths under her and around her to help prop herself up. Grew a nice scab over it and she seems to be doing ok. I put some antibiotic ointment on it several times so she wouldn’t rip the dry scab off. Thanks for asking... Roy

Please can I have the permission to use the image of the breast blister for academic non commercial use?
