Well that didn't take to long. Just had a neighbors dog tear through my pen and kill every chicken I had. **** shame. Had 40 chicks about 8 weeks old. Amercaunas barred rocks black and golden sex links. Just killed most didn't eat most just killed them.
 
He offered to pay for them. And lock his dogs up. Told him I appreciated it but that I'd have to deal with his dogs if I caught them back at my place. He understood.

Did you build a more secure area for them? No offense, but if a dog can get to your birds, a raccoon, fox, etc will see an all-you-can-eat buffet.

When you told him you would have to deal with his dogs if caught at your place where you holding a 20 guage when you said it?

Electric fencing is a wonderful thing. If you don't want electric 14 gauge welded wire for run and dig apron will keep your birds safe.

Very sorry for your lose.
 
Completely re built my cage and reinforced everything buried wire, brought in cross times to act as a barrier as well. The culprit was a big pit bull Lookin dog super sweet dog but played havoc on my little birdies. But dogs will be dogs I guess. He is keeping them locked up now. I don't think we will have an issue anytime soon.
