I'm so excited! We just got our tiny backyard brood today. (black australorp chicks) I'm so glad to have found this online community--I'm sure I'll have more than a few questions along the way.

It's pretty nippy in Northern Illinois. Do you have them in a brooder with heat lamp etc? Don't think spring is ever coming. If you put Illinois in the search box, if will come up and you can post on the state thread. Others will be glad to answer your questions and help you locate what you need.
If you need to find out sex etc. At 6 weeks you can post photos at "what breed or gender is this." Sellers are not often upfront about this.
