Hello again BYC! I joined early last year when I became the happy owner of an American Buff gosling named Jupiter. Sadly, she passed after being on this earth a mere 14 weeks.
It's nearly a year later and so much has changed. Jupiter inspired us to make a radical lifestyle change. Hubby and I sold our Seattle home on a .14 acre plot in late November. We purchased a 43+ acre homestead in the Okanogan Highlands. We love our new life in the country, and we especially love birds. Yesterday, I brought home three little Buff Orpington girls. We named them April, May and June. Here they are mowing down their breakfast this morning.
Unlike Jupiter who was an indoor pet, these ladies will have their own housing once they are ready to come out of the brooder. I am surprised at how sweet and affectionate these chicks are. They love to snuggle, burying themselves into my chest.
I'm really glad to have a reason to post on BYC again!
