Hello all, I came across a bantam rooster that was nice enough to sit on an egg of one of his hens. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, appears to be of the Dutch breed and maybe a cross of an old english silver duck wing. Either way he's confused if you are collecting the eggs to eat or incubate. The longer he sits on it, I take it is one egg, the quicker it's going to start developing. If you can take the out soon after the hen lays and show him it's gone the sooner he stops doing the sitting. Good Luck.

Thanks for your help! I only visit the farm to volunteer to help feed the chickens; and I've notified the woman who is responsible of managing the farm about the rooster sitting on the egg.

You're Welcome and enjoy the visits but be forewarned, it could rub off on you and the next thing you know! Ha.
