A store gave me a chick because it wasn't doing well. She sleeps a lot and is very wobbly on her feet. I can get her to drink a little but she will not eat. She has had several bowel movements since I brought her home. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you

Right now she needs water with SaveAChick vitamins and electrolytes. Dip her beak as often as possible today or use a dropper held to her beak to feed. Feed store chicks occasionally suffer from shipping stress or dehydration. When she is drinking well on her own, sprinkle some chick crumbles around her feet on a paper towel to get her interested in eating. Check her vent for pasty butt, and cleaning it off with a little warm water and soap.

Thank you! She was doing better last night, standing on her own and moving around. But during the night She stopped drinking again and was almost lifeless at 4am. The dropper seems to be helping to get water in her. She's perking up some again but not able to stand. She's a fighter.

After getting vitamin fluids in her, you can make a mash with medicated chick starter out of the vitamin water. We used a small plate and made the food moist. It is easier for the chick to eat and helps hydrate too.
