Hello all! My name is Teri Lowe and I recently decided to raise chickens in my backyard. I bought 8 from a local feed and tack store (who I will not be buying from again) and brought them home. They are adorable, but as Darwin stated "Survival of the fittest". Two are playing in the fields of chickie heaven. I was bummed by this, but as my husband, a past farmer stated, that's what happens with live animals. So, they are in a tub in the back room with a heat lamp on them. The toughies of the group are thriving and hopefully, because the weather is going to warm up here to the upper 80's, will have them outside for a bit to introduce them to the fresh air and sunshine. I am planning on building my coop in the next couple of weeks and really looking forward to it!

Any West Coast chicken raisers (particularly in the desert) that have any insight I would love it! Blessings and hummingbird kisses....teri
