Raising chicks with cats

Have your brooders set up so that the dogs and cats absolutely can not get at the chicks.
 
have a wild 10 month old Rottweiler who thinks she is a cat this is what I did

at first I just had 4 baby chicks ( til chicken math took )

This is a 500 Varikenne(XL) with a heat plate they go under




Then when they outgrew this (and I added 4 more) they upgraded to this which has a top (29" x 29")



NOW they are in this 4'x4'dog exercise pen with a top of the same material
 
So the first two nights our oldest cat tried to get them, but since then they don't care. Today my chicks got introduced to their soon to be permanent home.
 
TOO Funny!
Raise your chicks away from the cat till they are full grown!
My cat is a monster till they are full grown! She watches them out in the run, licking her lips!
Once they are big she never looks at them!
Dogs!?
KICK Their BUTTS!!!
My young dog got a good reminder tonight to not mess with the Ducks!!!
