I'm starting this thread to talk about Cornish Bantams. I'm new to the breed and would like to learn all I can about the breed and showing the breed. I'll start out by asking what size breeding pens do you use and how many to a pen. So please, some of you experts out there help me out.

Hi there Mike! I can't really give you much advice as far as breeding goes since I too only just started this year, but I figured I'd join in the conversation and hopefully some more experienced folks come along to show us both the ropes!

I currently have three Cornish Bantams, a pair of Black and one... well, I'm not sure what the hen's variety is. "Red Penciled" seems like the best way to describe it. I'm really gonna be focusing on the Blacks but I threw her in with the pair just to see if anything interesting came out.

I put 5 eggs in the incubator last week and now have 2 developing! I think the 3 which aren't are actually the Red hens, since she is bigger than the Black and the cock seems to have a difficult time mounting her whereas he's gotten very skilled at mating with the Black hen.

I've been gone for a couple of weeks and things are just getting back to normal. I did get three DC Bantam hens and am looking for a cock to go with them. Are their any colors that are compatible with dark that will not cause problems down the road? I'll post some pictures in a few days if I can figure that out.
