Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

How about this brownish mixed breed chicken. When it was little I thought for sure it was a rooster. Stood upright all the time but about 6 weeks and not much comb development.

Rufio for sure ;) him and penguin are trying to kill each other :-/ the other 4 are totally chill, captain & Yoshi I super hope one is a girl so we can keep 4!! Does anyone know how loudly silkie roosters crow?

To answer your question, we have had several Silkie roosters and they seem to crow just about as loud as other roosters. They usually have cute crows though, none of ours have had really annoying crows so far, but we have 2 young Silkie roos so I'll have to keep hoping that stays the case! Lol, oh well, we would love then anyway!

Gladys has people split right down the middle. Nearly 10 week old EE. I posted about her at about 5-6 weeks. Here "she" is now. Roo?

You should try checking the tail and neck feathers to see if they are rounded or pointed. That should kind of help you better tell.

I want to thank you for any help in advance. I've been told these are 4 weeks. I've had them almost 3, they were abandoned at the local animal shelter. I was called because the lady knew I was currently in process of hatching chicks. (Those hatched yesterday yea!)

Kickstand is my baby. Seemed to have an injured leg but hasn't slowed any.

Crunchy (my husband named) has a leg/knee (do chickens have knees?) issue.

To young to say for sure but kickstand looks like a possible cockerel, I would post again in another week or two to confirm. That was very kind of you to take them in!

Those are probably sexlink (one black sexlink and 2 red sexlink) cockerels, and the reason they were dumped.
