Hi, I've been a member for awhile, but just got chickens for the first time last month. This is a 5 week old chantecler, I've heard they are hard to tell if it's a pullet or cockerel...any thoughts on this one? I have 4 chanteclers and 3 black cochins. The cochins I am pretty sure there are 2 girls and one boy, despite the lady at the chicken swap assuring me that all 3 were girls TIA

I have an 11 week old barred rock who is supposed to be a pullet, but I'm not so sure. Can anyone help out?

Also, how accurately can you tell his/her gender just from this picture? If you need any more angles, please let me know! Or is there a way of telling that can't be found from a picture?

Any help is greatly welcomed!
I've never seen a pullet that age with such a large red comb, so I think cockerel.

SO far all look like pullets, and we've already discussed Ainsley. :)

Two of the chanties I cannot tell apart, one has brown feathers here and there and the other has different colored legs. View attachment 553093 View attachment 553094 View attachment 553095
Unfamiliar with Chantecler, but don't see any obvious cockerels yet, combs all pale, except for red visible in a bit of Cochin comb. Do not know how the Chanteclers develop, so too early to be certain at 5 weeks. They should be solid white with yellow legs. Anything else means the line is not pure somehow (maybe a sneaky rooster:)). https://livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/chantecler

Hi everyone, I am a new chicken owner and am positive about my other girls being hens but I have ONE in question that might be a Roo. Out of my flock I have 10, different breeds and colors. I have 3 black Australorps, and one of them seems a little different than the other two. I'm thinking she might be a HE! Any opinions are greatly appreciated The first pic shows the chicken in question next to one of my other australorps and my barred rock girl. The rest of the pics are close ups of the chicken in question. They are all about 8 weeks old.

Thank you! I thought the brown in the one and the different colored legs in the other might be a color deviation for girls vs boys lol. Dang, I'm gonna ask the guy I bought them from if he knows what breed the sneaky rooster is! Thank you so much!

I currently have six cuckoo maran chicks. Here is three that i believe to be pullets. They're two weeks old. Displayed in the same order in both group photo and individual photos.
Anyone agree with my guess?
