Pullet or cockerel?

Thread Starter

This little one hatched Christmas Day with another chick we are pretty sure is a cockerel. We were initially thinking it was a pullet, as one of our hens has a large floppy comb, but now we aren't so sure. Definitely has not crowed.

Thanks!
Danielle, RN from Bailieboro, Ontario. Mama to Bentley, 3 year old hound mix and Callie, Bellatrix and Summer the cats. Let's not forget 3 Narrangansett turkeys, 12 heritage breed mix chickens, 4 lavender Orpingtons, 3 Ameraucanas (2 blue, 1 black), 13 Golden Comets and 2 buff Cochin and Black Copper Maran roos.

I think pullet since there are no saddle feathers visible in that picture.

It's a cockerel. The red patches on the wings are a giveaway.
