Thread Starter

I have two RIR and have added two ten week red sex. I know about the pecking order but I am getting four more chicks and wonder at what age I can add them to the flock? the RIR are not taking to the new chicks.

thanks,

Alright Dulless, :welcome great to have you joining the BYC flock :frow

I normally put all my new flock members in a separate cage in the coop or in the yard so the other members can get use to seeing the new members for a week at least ..

See all sizes can get along if they have room ..

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :)

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

I do this as well. I put a little coop right next to my bigger one so they can get used to each other.

RIR tends to be an aggressive breed  so I hope attempts at integration go well.   Welcome to Backyard chickens.
